According to Microsoft, their Xbox sales are well on track for another record breacking holiday season. This is due to a combination of lower Xbox pricing and the expected launch of the “New Xbox Experience” this fall. With many great games in the lineup such as Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 (which are each expected to sell over a million units each, Microsoft is confident in their own strong performance.
According to NPD data, in August alone, Microsoft sold 195,000 Xbox units which have only added to their over 10 million units in the U.S alone. The number one selling game was Madden 09 which sold over one million copies.

A very interesting article of why Microsoft’s Xbox 360 should win the console war. Written by Don Reisinger of CNET, its a very good read. Check it out.
For a while, I’ve said that Microsoft needs to find a way to attract more customers and bring more people on board. With all the new Xbox 360 price cuts, even Hot Topic, which is a retail chain store that specializes in pop-culture attire, is getting into the Xbox 360 mix. They are currently selling a limited edition Xbox 360 Arcade system for $199. Although that price tag is similar to other Xbox 360 Arcade consoles, this limited edition from Hot Topic comes equipped with some goodies. First, this limited edition has a 20GB hard drive, as suppose to none with the original XBox 360 Arcade console. Additionally, the limited edition comes with a play and charge kit, a headset, and a stylish, Hot Topic-ish, Spartan Green paint job. Very nice! If one were looking for a deal on an Xbox 360, this is it.

As I was web browsing, I stumbled upon this. It lists the best selling games for the major international markets. Check this out.
Xbox 360 North America: 1. Tales of Vesperia — Premium Edition (Namco Bandai), 2. Tales of Vesperia (Namco Bandai), 3. Madden NFL 09 (EA Sports), 4. Too Human (Microsoft), 5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (EA Sports).
Japan: 1. Tales of Vesperia (Namco), 2. Clannad (Prototype), 3. Too Human (Microsoft), 4. Soulcalibur IV (Namco), 5. Dead Rising — Xbox 360 Platinum Collection (Capcom).
UK: 1. Too Human (Microsoft), 2. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar), 3. Beijing 2008 (Sega), 4. Halo 3 (Microsoft), 5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (EA Sports).
Both the regular and limited editions of Namco Bandai’s debuting RPG Tales of Vesperia manage to trump former North American Xbox 360 sales leader Madden NFL 09 in this week’s results. Too Human falls to fourth place, meanwhile, as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 joins the chart at fifth.
Tales of Vesperia remains a top seller in Japan this week as well, though the recently released Xbox 360 port of Clannad provides ample chart competition. UK gamers place Too Human at the top of the charts in its premiere week, with GTAIV finishing close behind.

I’m pretty sure plenty of you would love this little treat I have for you all. Check out these great screenshots of the upcoming Halo Wars video game, the next game in the Halo series.
These screenshots look very promising. The new Halo Wars will boast the following features
New take on a legendary world. Set in the iconic “Halo” universe, “Halo Wars” predates the original first-person shooter “Halo.” Fans of the “Halo” franchise will have the opportunity to experience the early battles between the UNSC and Covenant, the far-reaching conflict that has been diligently followed by the masses in the blockbuster “Halo” series.
Players join the crew onboard the Spirit of Fire, a Phoenix-class colony ship converted for UNSC military use and guided by the AI persona Serina. The “Halo Wars” story line follows the Spirit of Fire’s discovery of an ancient artifact during a journey to the planet Harvest, the first planet to be attacked by the Covenant.
Strategic command of armies in large-scale combat. “Halo Wars” put gamers in command of the battlefield, playing as either of two unique civilizations: UNSC and Covenant. They can counter and crush their opponent by tactically fielding the superior army. Players can also choose among Leaders that possess elite skills which can turn the tides of battle. Using various combinations of Leaders and units, players can create countless strategies tailored to their preferred playing styles and personalized strategies.
Groundbreaking strategy game for the Xbox 360. Since inception, “Halo Wars” was explicitly designed to cater to console gamers and bring to the Xbox 360 a genre that has typically been played on the PC. Gamers can easily command and manage powerful armies, effortlessly control troops and incredible machines, engage in epic battles and expand their empire using an intuitive user interface for the Xbox 360. “Halo Wars” represents the true next-generation experience, combining a masterful control scheme using the Xbox 360 Controller with the award-winning strategic gameplay only Ensemble Studios can provide.

For those who simply just can’t afford the new Soul Calibur IV for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 or just refuses to even purchase a copy, today is your lucky day! News from Namco Bandai is that a demo for the highly anticipated fighting game will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace. But there are some bad news. Unfortunately for those Star Wars fans, you will not be able to play as either Yoda or Darth Vader in the demo version. Those two characters are only available on the retail product. But otherwise, the demo should be fun. Please remember to come back and leave comments about your Soul Calibur IV experience.
